How do I transfer my old account?

If your old hosting provider is using cpanel follow these steps.

- Once logged into your control panel at your old host, find the "Backup" option. This is located in the second row of icons, second icon to the right.

- Now that you have the backup section of the control panel loaded in your web browser, you should start to take backups of the account. First create a new folder / directory on your local machine, an easy location would be your desktop & name the folder / directory domain.com (i.e. the domain name of your site you're transferring to the Proclanhosting server).

- Now start downloading backups to your local machine. First select the "Download a home directory Backup" link, you will be prompted for a location to save this data, point the download dialog box to the new folder / directory you just created on your desktop & click on save. Depending on the size of this account, it may take some time to download this backup.

- Next under the "Download a MySQL Database Backup" heading, select each of the MySQL databases you'd like to migrate / transfer and save each database to your desktop.

- Finally, download & save to your desktop the "Aliases" & "Filters" you'd like to migrate / transfer.

- Please be aware that the files you have downloaded are compressed archives. Do not extract these archives on your desktop as they must remain compressed in order to restore them.

Now that you have backups of all the data within the account you wish to migrate / transfer, you can begin the restore process.

- Next you will need to log into your new account on the Proclanhosting server.

- Once logged into your control panel with us, find the "Backup" option. This is located in the second row of icons, second icon to the right.

- As soon as the backup package loads, you can start to restore the data you downloaded from your old server. On the right hand side of the page under "Restore a Home Backup", select the "Browse" button. A new dialog box pops up, you should navigate to the folder / directory you created on your desktop containing the backups you downloaded previously. Once you locate the folder / directory, select the Home Directory backup. Once you've completed this, click the "Upload" button. You will then get a page that says "Restoring Files". Once this process completes, navigate back to the backup section of the control panel. You should then repeat the above steps for your MySQL databases, Aliases & Filters.

At this point you should have a fully restored account on the Proclanhosting server you're hosted on. If you log into the account via FTP, you will see all of the files that were restored. You should also be able to check mail & mail forwarding should work as expected once DNS has propagated.

Remember we also Offer this service free if your not sure about doing this you can open a support ticket and we'll do the transfer for you.
