There are several reasons why the script may be showing errors here are a few answers:
(A) Why am I receiving an error about another installation in the webroot? This error has been caused by a previously installed application through Fantastico which has not been correctly removed. In order to fix it please follow these steps:
1. Make sure there are no conflicting files / directories left in your public_html directory;
2. Delete all the files from .fantasticodata in your home directory.
(B) Why am I receiving a notice that only a manual upgrade is possible?
This notice means that Fantastico cannot upgrade automatically your application because of various compatibility reasons. In such cases we recommend that you follow the manual upgrade instructions for your application. If you still need further assistance open a support ticket and we'll try and help you.
(C) Fantastico installation complains about conflicting file names. In order to resolve such problems please try to:
1. Rename / Remove all conflicting file / directory names;
2. Delete all the content from the directory ".fantasticodata" in your home directory.
3. Usually the main cause of this is there's already an image folder or index page in the directory your trying to use Fantastico in. Please bear in mind that this may corrupt other / previous Fantastico installations.
(D) Error: ""Fantastico is unable to connect to your MySQL server at this time. Please contact your host for assistance."
Usually this problem is caused by a special character in your password. For example '\' is known to cause this issue.
In order to resolve it please change your cPanel password from your Customer's area, My accounts, the link "Manage" next to your account. Try not using special characters such as '\' and there should be no problems.
